How to make the Tarquin’s Figroni Festive cocktail

This nostalgic cocktail recipe from Tarquin’s puts a festive twist on an old classic. Perfect for cosy Christmas nights in and evenings spent entertaining friends and family.

Inspired by the warm and familiar flavours of Christmas, this recipe has been put together by our Seasalt Friends over at Tarquin’s to celebrate the return of their Festive Figgy Pudding Gin.

Made using traditional techniques and quality ingredients, the gin experts at Tarquin’s have been handcrafting award winning spirits on the wild Cornish coast since 2012. Infused with Christmas spices, smoked wood chips and dried figs, the Festive Figgy Pudding Gin gives a seasonal twist to the classic negroni.

Simple to make and full of festive warmth, the figroni is the perfect cocktail to enjoy while you’re putting the final touches on the tree, hosting friends and family, or simply settling in to rewatch your favourite Christmas movie. Follow the recipe below to have a go at making it at home yourself.

Method

For the Tarquin’s figroni cocktail

  1. Place a large ice cube into your tumbler.
  2. Pour equal parts (50ml of each) Tarquin’s Figgy Pudding Gin, Campari and Red Vermouth over ice and into the glass.
  3. Give your cocktail a gentle stir to combine the spirits.

For the garnish

  1. Use a sharp knife or peeler to peel a small section of orange peel.
  2. Twist the section of peel into a spiral shape over the glass to catch some of the fragrant orange oils released from the peel.
  3. Place your garnish into the glass and enjoy.
