Seasalt Volunteers’ Month

To celebrate our volunteering month, we’re sharing some of the wonderful ways Seasalt staff have been giving back to the community.

Each year, every Seasalt employee is given an additional day’s paid volunteering leave to help give back to the communities where we live and work. By the end of 2025, our aim is to have given 20,000 hours to help support causes that encourage us to look after ourselves, each other and the world around us.

This year, we’re celebrating National Volunteers’ Week (1-7th June) by making June our Volunteers’ Month, giving Seasalt staff the chance to donate more than just their time to the charities that mean the most to them. Throughout June, Seasalt will donate £100 to charity for every full day of volunteering completed. To select the charity, all employees who volunteered in June will be entered into a draw. At the end of the month, three names will be selected at random to each choose a charity for one third of the total funds to be donated to.

To kick things off and say thank you to everyone who has already donated their time to help others, here’s what our teams have been up to recently.

Gardening for good

In March, members of our marketing team volunteered for Cornwall Mind at the Falmouth Allotment Project, which helps members meet new people and learn new skills that benefit physical and mental health. They spent the day with members and allotment owners, helping move compost, cut back brambles and clear overgrown plots ready for springtime planting.

Art for our environment

In April, our Design Team created a mural for Falmouth Primary Academy to recognise pledges made by the students at their mock G7 trust summit. The design was created to support the concern the students have for the environment and wildlife around them, as well as their desire to raise awareness for and remain involved in environmental and wellbeing projects.

Charity fairs for animal shelters

Our Bury shop team have been volunteering to support Sesaw, an independent local animal charity based in Suffolk and Essex. The team spent the day with Sesaw to help sell books, cakes and toys at the charity’s Easter Fair. All money raised is going towards looking after and rehoming rescued animals in need of some love and care.

Fundraising for Ukraine

Over the Easter weekend, employees from across the business volunteered to run a staff charity event to raise money for Choose Love’s Ukraine Crisis Fundraiser. Thanks to this event and a previous donation, Seasalt Cornwall has now raised more than £20,000 for Choose Love, a charity that provides humanitarian aid to those who need it most.

If you’d like to get involved with some volunteering yourself, head to the National Volunteer’s Week website to find opportunities near you.
