The Wild Beauty of the Cornish Sea

Our newest collection is inspired by the patterns of water, and the marks that waves leave on the land.

As the seasons change, we’ve been looking to the enduring rhythms of nature around our home for inspiration, from the yearly patterns of growth and harvest to the daily cycles of the sun and tide.

This month, we’ve turned to the sea and translated its wild beauty into fluid styles and rippled knitsWe’ve captured the colour of golden green kelp just below the surface of the water, and collected dried seaweed in a notebook to create delicate pink botanical prints.

We’ve also reimagined our heritage of traditional workwear, recreating the cable stitches of fishermen’s jumpers in cosy natural yarns and softening the simple silhouettes of smocks and jackets with new colours and curved edges. We’ve paired these hardwearing styles with swaying dresses and skirts for outfits that move easily from summer to autumn, from coast to city.

Saltwater purls

In our 40th year, we’re celebrating the people and places that inspire and sustain us. This month we head to the historic port town of Penzance with our knitwear designer Carina, her partner Tim and mother Lynn to test Carina’s newest designs.

Explore Penzance’s galleries and boutiques and learn more about Carina’s design inspiration.
