Behind the scenes of our Woodland Christmas photoshoot
Come behind the scenes with us at Enys House to see how we brought our Cornish Woodland Christmas photoshoot to life.
This year, our Christmas collection is inspired by wintertime walks taken through Cornish woodlands. From the vibrant hues of evergreen branches to the jewel-like colours of winter berries, the frosty beauty of a December woodland is reflected in this season’s prints and designs.
When the time came for our Christmas photoshoot, the rural and rustic Enys House provided the perfect backdrop.
Nestled among idyllic woodland, Enys House is a charming Cornish estate just east of Penryn. Owned by the same family since 1272, the property is home to some of Cornwall’s oldest gardens.
Looking at the house and gardens today, it’s hard to tell that only 11 years ago the property was in a state of disrepair. But, thanks to the recent hard work of the Estate’s groundskeepers, Enys House has been lovingly restored to its original beauty.
Jane and Jade, our mother and daughter model duo, showcased our soft velvet dresses, festive Fair Isles and more. While they casually posed in large rooms full of period features, our photographers captured the natural light flooding in through the grand windows.
At Seasalt, our photoshoot for each collection always takes place a few months ahead of release. This meant that our Woodland Christmas photos were actually taken in July, right in the heart of the Cornish summer.
Despite the sunshine, our artistic team did a great job at recreating a cosy Christmas scene. The statement fireplace was thoughtfully decorated with forest green foliage and bright berries.
Logs were brought in from the wood store and gold painted pinecones were placed carefully to mimic the soft glimmer of firelight.
Jane and Jade wrapped up warm and looked cosy in their Seasalt coats, boots and winter accessories. Layering casual knitwear over classic denim for outside strolls through the gardens and styling colourful midi dresses for festive shots inside the mansion house.
With the help of our mother and daughter models, we were able to capture the family spirit that encapsulates the festive season. There were even a few occasional moments when Kingston, Jade’s son, jumped in to steal the show!
